I was googling fig relates words and this link came up. It's a couple years old, but a nice read. Maybe it's been posted here before? Is he a member here?http://www.silive.com/entertainment/dining/index.ssf/2010/07/30_fig_trees_on_a_40_by_100_fo.html
Nice article, thanks Frank
Read the article and thanks for posting it, i see we grow the fig trees in somewhat similar fashion.
martin, just wondering? do you fertilize as often? and do you use similiar potting mix? thanks, Anthony
I know Peter, so does Georgi,
I don't think he is a member here.I think the reporter who wrote the article misquoted him on the fertilizer. She has interviewed me as well, and has done the same.
Espo no i do not use miracle grow everyday as said in article which is obviously a misquote of the interviewer.I was using a peat based mix that i was making myself until the bales shot up in price last season.
thanks, Martin.
That's Pete, every year we go early to the Staten Island fig festival and "set up shop". He brings his belleclare only stock and I bring some stuff too for trading or selling. He is a die hard belleclare technique follower but I am sure he has made his own adjustments along the way. Unfortunately he is not a forum member. But he is a good honest man.
Ed, was he there last year? Next year I need to make sure I go earlier.
I stand corrected, last year he was sick and could not attend.
Thanks for chiming in, Ed. I knew someone had to have know him. Wish I lived closer to fig enthusiasts.
thanks for the read...
