zaitun,   I don't know what variety they are ,but they sure are some beautiful figs.  They look like they would be delicious to eat. Congratulations.

Beautiful fig!!

Thanks for your Compliment.
I am still hoping  some one who has a Black Mission Fig at home on this forum , could tell me whether Its a Black mission or else.

Hope you  would have a nice week-end.

Salam,
Zaitun

I don't have one at home, but I've bought them at the store, and they are plump like yours but black or dark purple-black.  I'm wondering if they could be the same, but maybe your climate and/or soil affects them differently.

Suzi

Doesn't look like Black mission . Black mission is more egg shaped .
Do you have pics of inside ?

John

Suzi & John
You're right perhaps my country's  climate caused the change of fruit color and shape.
Most of Figs like : Negrone ,  Belone and Abicou fig never produced the Elongate figs shape (Egg shape ) in my region.

John , this is the inside fruit pulp Pic

Thank you so much

Looks more like Sal's Corleone to me.

I don't think they are Black Mission either. Even with a different climate I would think the shape should still be the same. I have bought them in the store and they are longer and more of a black color. No matter what kind they are they do look good.

Zaitun,
This is not a Mission in my opinin. Mission has red pulp not amber. I have a true Mission. If you want I can send you cuttings. PM me.
Sue

Zeitun. This is not BM fig but they look delicious.

Dear All ,

Thanks a lot for your information and kind help  .
Seems its not a Black Mission fig , at least I knew it before I share /trade the figs tree cuttings  with other figs lovers.
I am very grateful to my friend who made me having this beautiful fig tree.

@HoosierBanana ,

Thank you ,
But It does not look  as same as my Sal's Corleone fig that I have at home .
( Hope on my Pic , its real Sal's Corleone )
This is the type of Sal's Corleone on Pic's which having more red fruit's color before its full ripe.

Have a good weekend.

I am in the same situation. I grew a black Mission (?) for three years. It ripened its fruit this year in the 3rd year (we had heat  waves too). The ripe fruits were greenish yellow; these cuttings were purchased and obviously mislabeled. We all make mistakes and there is long lasting sweetness in forgiving that does not exist in curse or revenge for sure.

Hi Ottawan ,

I agree with you  , That is why I am joining in this forum.
Learning a new things about fig , fraternity & willingness to share is much worth than Black mission figs it self.

Thanks and Salamualaikum ,

John

I agree sals corleone mine just got Id by the pros and yours looks the same everything about it find my post and look at the pics

I vote no on Black Mission. Wrong shape and wrong color.

Looks like Weeping.....Sal's Corleone aka Shar Italian

Sweet, very juicy, open eye, splits when it gets too much rain. But with great conditions, an excellent fig!

Thank you Dennis ,

Perhaps , its not Sal's Corleone since  My Corleone figs having more red color before its fully ripe and the leaf shape is difference ( I put Corleone figs photos on this thread as well ) . unfortunately , i dont have Schar Italian to compare with

My other colleague told me its close  to " Hardy Bufallo figs or  Pittburgh Mission figs  "  , But I Could not find any information or Picture of  HB & MP  in Internet
If some one could tell me or Sharing any info what this type of  fig is...?  ( I dont mind to share and shipping  the cuttings for free with her/him  ) .

Thanks and Salam
zaitun

Still  the Un-known (Not) Black Mission is still producing the 6th  cute figs this morning. Even during hard rainy season this month.
Its taste still sweet and has no split or cracking .

Have a nice Friday and Salam
