A friend of mines Mom found this fig in West Azarbaijan Iran high in the mountains according to his mother this tree gets 3 crops a year He asked me to post these pictures to see if anyone could identify this fig
Is this one still in Iran i.e were the photos taken in Iran? If so, does that part of Iran in the mountains have the wasp? The pulp is interesting. It is like a mix of amber and pink.
yes Steve those pictures were taken in Iran and they told me it did not need the wasp to pollinate it
Shaped like Italian 258. Leaves,are very cool. Good luck with the identification.
I'll bet there are all kinds of figs unknown to the west in Iran. Would be nice to try some of them here, knowing it is a common fig. I'd be curious about its taste profile. Mike in Hanover, VA
