I have recently acquired 2 negronnes with about 50 for figs on each a ronde de Bordeaux with about 30 figs on it, and up potted them into larger pots, I had to squeeze the pots to get the roots and dirt out, I'm reading if you disturb the roots while in full foliage you will Kill the tree, is this true? It's been 2 weeks since I did this and there are no problems at all in fact everything seems to be doing better, should I expect all the figs to fall off? Also if there was an issue how long would it take to affect the tree! Thanks so much I'm like freaking out

To totally expose the roots especially during the hot summer days is a recipe for disaster. In general if you up pot while the fruit is set, at the very least the quality of that fruit might initially suffer, as the tree tries to adjust. The shock of a new environment might even cause the fruit to drop. If your tree is showing vigorous growth, then I would not worry too much the first year. What usually contributes significantly to a healthy crop is established roots, so having a fig tree in its new environment, one should not expect much that first year.

Thanks SAS, but if I did cause damage when would I start to notice fruit dropping or tree dying?

dont worry your trees will not die.
when you replant when dormant it is common to use
a knife and score the roots in several places.

but when you replant during growth they say dont disturb the roots
which means dont score the roots.

so merely squeesing the pot and sliding the plant out
will not disturb it.

having said that i have repoted many small fig trees during growth
and knife scored as well with no ill affects.

as for your figs falling due to some sort of shock i cant say
for sure but i would be surprised if all was not well.

Your fruit does not have to drop and quality should improve next season. If your tree has not wilted immediately then all is ok. Sometimes even if shocked a tree would recover. Just treat them normally by watering on a regular schedule depending on your local conditions.
