I bought this Fig about 2 years ago at"Home Depot" they were having a clearing out sale on their trees so I starting looking to see if they had any Fig trees, found one with a "Celeste" tag, I thought well for $9.99 it's worth that, it was pretty good size tree.

This last brutal Winter froze it to the ground as well as all my other outside Trees,that were planted in the backyard. They all came back from the dead (I thought they were).... this tree is now a whole lot bigger than any of the others and it's loaded with Big yellow Figs, they look green in the photo but they are yellow.

The pulp of this Fig is like an  light reddish-Amber color. The Fig is pretty sweet but really I can taste no other flavors...the leaves have long fingers on them like vdb,rdb and Stella,of course I know it's not none of these.

I figured the leaves would give it away but I have had no luck in the last 3 months..... I am pretty sure it's not some type of Celeste with these type leaves, Is it? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Your very lucky frank. That is what i look for in figs is a unique leaf pattern. I havnt a clue. Never seen that leaf before. ket them fig ripen up a bit more !! ;)

That is a Brunswick. You described it perfectly- sweet and not much else. Maybe melon-y flavor but very common down south. Beautiful leaves nice fruit, splits in heavy rain in my experience. It also was very hardy in my are, maybe hardy isn't the right word, but resilient. It has some positives, but the lack of richness or berry flavor and the constant splitting made me give mine away.

Richie, I don't look for a unique leaf pattern, I look for a good tasting fruit.

So Brunswick a yellow fig not black. I have 4 acres of land bill ...so i can have unique leafed trees and great tasting fruit. BEST of both Worlds lol.

Definitely not Celeste.
