Need some opinions on if this tree has a shot.

Saw this on ebay and I have been wanting this variety but I am not sure if this one has a shot. Can the growth get healthier as the tree puts on size? Any opinions are appreciated.

well, look at the bright side... you won't have much competition, so you'll probably get it for the 9.99 :).

That's actually what I was thinking. I am figuring the other one might get a little out of my range so if I can get this one for ten bucks I don't have much to lose if it does not make it.

John, i think it has a very good shot.
The other one if you look carefully it also has fmv but is dealing with it, perhaps if this one does well in shipping it will also start doing better.
I just was nosey and curious and looked at the 1 currently up for bid it also has FMV i can see it. Click the enlarge feature and slowly move your eyes to the top back leaf at 11:00 look, its a 3 lobe leaf, look at the middle lobe towards the top its very faint but you should see lighter green what appears as dot like features, also you can see several dark green spots darker than the leaf color itself on the very front 3 lobe leaf , thats also a a sign of FMV. Most of the members i bet have at least 1 fig plant with FMV some realize it some do not. But to me FMV is no big a deal at all for most fig plants.
I'm not knocking the plant what so ever as most plants do well with FMV and as they grow older and are taken care of like most of us do they do just as well as any other fig plant that does not have it, im not bragging but you can see many of my pictures of figs and the plants and most of them have it. If i wanted that type i would surely bid on it or snipe it.  ; )
Best Luck

i think it was bass who told me that after a plant gets exposed to cold weather it is able to handle fmv better. since mine freeze to the ground every year, i ought to be in like flynn :).

Thanks diesler. I was going to go for it but it looks like he ended the auction early.

Barnisotte is a really good fig. Let it get nice and wrinkly before picking. It has been a slow grower, and I have maybe a dozen figs this year, but worth every one of them.
