Must be the hottest day of the year so naturally I had the whole family helping me move 18 tomato plants from 1gallon pots to our garden.

Truth be told, I need the pots to up pot some cuttings that I had rooted but I won't share that with the family.

Needs of the figs outweigh the needs of anything else.

Yesterday I planted out about 25 raspberries that had been in gallon pots. The thought of putting newly rooted fig cuttings into them crossed my mind more than once. :)

Ah yes, the lore of the topiaries...the "pot" heard around the world.

Yup take back the pots. Tomatoes are a dime a dozen kinda like the white figs .
The rooted ones are of dark types right ?

They sure are Martin! Vdb, rdb, Scott's, Rocco and Greek, and a very few whites but I won't name them lest I rouse your ire. :-)

We have a few vdb that rooted early spring and I popped one out of its 1 gallon pot and was suprised to see so many roots already. I think i should check a few more and see if they are ready for 3 gallon pots ands'more shade. I have 60+ in the driveway in 1 gallon pots and they are loving the sun.

Side note:I got into making pasta and canning sauce last fall hence all the tomatoes, basil and oregano.

just use pots for dark types then and keep the roma's in the containers that were for the white ones they make good kindle for the fire when they dry out.

It been a few years since i use but i have the electric Italian machine i put the whole plum tomato in there and seperates the skin and seeds so i can can them its called
Imperia Spremy and works excellent.
