Martin, how old is your tree ? Mine died back to ground and have sprouted with 4 leaves in July. Had no figs yet and it is in its 2nd season.

Martin, I want to remember it being you that posted a picture of a Negretta showing the beautiful colors in the plant. That posting sparked my desire to obtain one for myself. In May I put most of my trees in-ground including my Negretta. Well, the first time I cut the grass where I planted my trees I ran slap over my beautiful Negretta, two two and one half inch stubs was all that was left. Every day, praying over it, talking to it, promising I will never be so careless again,  it has returned and growing very well. It is about 20"s tall now.

Paully its in 3rd growing season.
Its first year i experimented with it and set it back for season i put into fancy mix and whole plant wilted bad very bad and lost all leaves. I transplanted back into regular potting soil and it luckily survived.

Jstall yes good yours came back . Im sure after that like me its well taken care off, yours look very nice by the way.
Bass posted ripe figs of this type in past. I think it was Bass.

Yes I did get a ripe breba from my tree. It was a very colorful fig, I just wanted to stare at it. I have many figs on the tree that is about to ripen all at once.

That fig looks yammm. I should put it on my wishlist :)

Hey Martin, what's your potting soil mix? I played around with some different potting soil this year too, but 3 months ago I had to dump it and go back to my favorite too.

Dennis, the potting mix that almost killed it was turface/bark/cherrystone.
I do have an oleander plant from Italy that thrives in it though that sometimes cam be seen in pictures and has pink flowers and the best female perfume you ever smelled within the flowers, you know how lilac bush is fragrant this is also nice.
I use scotts premium potting soil mostly but have harder time finding it .
This season i have grown all small plants and topping off the big plants with upm mix as i found decent price for 3 cubic foot bags. I was adding some bark but no more , i do use dolomitic lime  as well .

Here back in 2008 is picture of Negretta but far from its worse , it started dropping leaves and went into regular potting mix and lost all the leaves but came back .
