Negretta Hopes

I took this picture to show the colorful stems and buds, its young Negretta fig plant my 2nd favorite plant to look at.
Maybe i get to taste the figs pictured maybe not as plant is just coming into its own. Rain drops included as the sun was ducking in and out of clouds along with off and on rain.

Thanks for posting. It is a beautiful plant. Also, good enough to be indoor ornamental tree because of the reddish buds and reddish leaves stems. Take good care of it (as you always do).

PS: Is the "Cancel" button in new post page a new addition? I hit it twice intending "Spell Check" and lost what I had prepared.

Agree Ottawaman need to get rid of my Strawberry guavas and get me one of these for indoors. Just love the colours of the buds and leaf stems. Martin is this a Good Variety for us Cool folks in Zone 5

Ottawan,
sometimes as you know i type long story and once in a while what happens is i lose the signal and have to start all over again yes i know what you mean. The cancel button im not sure i think it was there before just not absolute on that.
Nelson,
i have been looking for a few more that are supposed to be on the cold hardy side for me and have obtained a fewlate last year and this spring now im done just have to wait a few years to see how the new ones actually grow in my climate and taste also to see if there to my likeing.
Negretta is one of them yes this is what i have read on several different sites
A wild type that’s very drought resistant; it’s normally a small bushy tree in form; bears heavily; the fruits are black, small, thin skin, red pulp, very sweet and sought after. It ripens starting from August 15 in Genova. This variety is placed in areas suited to no other purpose, e.g. on the edges of fields or on hillsides with rocky, poor soil due to its incredible resistance to drought and cold. Negretta has a single crop over a short period.
I figure 3 years total and i get a gauge on taste and growth habit, so far this year it wanted to grow slow upwards and faster sideways. I like to grow more tree form habit so i trimmed side branches except for a few to start to shape it and now its starting to grow better upwards just not as fast as my other small plants.

Anyone got ripe Negretta figs this year?
Here's mine.

I did not get to taste mine its young though and i stressed it to the point of death last winter trying to grow it indoors with a new type of soil, next season i taste them for sure this year i concentrate plant on upwards growth.
I'm thinking yours is young as well for the ripen figs to be so late perhaps or no.
They are beautiful compared to most other fig plants in my opinion so the big question Bass.
How did it taste this late in the season?

There I go again, itching,  send that my way I have another to add to my growing conditions Nelson I think I itched first  Just kidding
