That sure is a pretty picture Martin. I might have to try to get me one of the trees."gene"
Show us what part of the yard it is in.
That's true beauty!
Rafed, Martin is a nice and generous guy, but I think you're pushing your luck if you think he will make it easy for you. LOL"gene"
rafed, try downloading the picture and using "infrared" effect on it. you can see the background. good luck :)pete
Pete,I will dig out my Xray glasses I purchased as a kid from marvel comics back in the 70s.Gene,LOL
Nice healthy looking plant Martin.
Advice? I have an eye out on Negretta, I want to plant it in ground. Bad idea? Rarity? I hear it is not hardy?
Rafed you know what you can do. ; )Not sure how cold hardy vs hardy chicago as i store them in garage but can say neither one ever had limb damage that i recall in doing so.Jenniferarino - i'm not expert and do not like to give advice only "what i would do if it were mine"So if it were mine and i decide to put inground i would grow for 3-5 years and put inground as it would be easy to protect, as plant in container for me it is somewhat slow growing yet is a very good producer of figs.
Martin, I have also read that Negretta is a very sweet fig. In your opinin how does it's sweetness compare to, Celeste, or White Trinna?
I would say on close with Celeste when dead wrinkled ripe, but its been many many seasons ago i tasted Celeste which i no longer have.Malta Black one day i could compare to .
I love that picture! What a beauty
