Negretta waking up

About a week ago I posted about the Negretta being the latest of figs waking up from a long sleep.
It should evidence of new growth with tiny stubs on the sides.

Today these little stubs are little red leaves no larger than a cherry in size.

Another example to not toss your plants. I have a few more I'm going to hold on to just in case.

Please enjoy the pictures and use this as encouragement to hold on to your dead looking plants. Even when all looks doom and gloom, there is still hope.

Wow, I can't beleive your tree (and other members) stayed dormant for so long.  If I had one to do that I would have taken it for dead and charged it to the game, lol.

Hey Rafed, negretta is one fig that I would be happy to see wake up. Congrats. Check your PM.

Rafed, did you notice my wish list?  xoxoxoxoooooooooooo

Negretta is a hot weather lover, and that is why she didn't wake up.  I need someone to air layer one for me.  Happy to pay.  I live in the place that fig loves, but I've lost many to fungus gnats or cuttings cut before their time....

Very nice Rafed, thanks for sharing.

OMG Rafed ! I have a Malone that is still dormant. It had only one small leaf and this week a bunny ate it !! With all the flippin' trees I have in great shape - he ate the one and only one on Malone !! :((   If it wasn't so aggravating it would be funny !! Well, it is funny ...
I was thinking that this small tree was going to be toast - but maybe, just maybe it will give me one more leaf ?!!  So maybe there's still hope....

I'm glad your tree is waking up !!

Pattee, I am no fan of bunnies!  They are about as cute as a snake when your plants are involved.  I'm working on getting that BB gun.

That's a late bloomer! Something tells me you won't get any figs on it this year. Next summer it might reward you with a bumper crop after taking a long nap, waking for a short time then going back to sleep;)

Amazing; just look at those characteristic Negretta young red tips...

George,

This is from Martins bloodline.

>>> This is from Martins bloodline.

And Martins bloodline came from me.
And my bloodline came from Gene.
And Genes bloodline came from Sergio (Italy).
And ...

And, and, and; I lost mine a few years ago and now
I have a young one just from you - what a full circle!

Isn't that something?
