Negretta-fig of the day

Kerry sure .
Negretta

Thanks Martin.
It looks like mine is the same as Marius version.

Both look like beautiful figs.
Thanks Marius for pics and flavor rating of Unkown Negretta.

Thanks for the pic Martin.  The leaves on yours look to me like the ones that Tam posted, of Tina's tree.

Pattee, spoken like a true figaholic.  =)

LOL Jules you are so right . Isn't the first step recognizing ones addiction? Ok I'm there...

The leaves of Marius' 'unknown Negretta' look very much like those of Maggie/Italian girl's Valle Negra at her site: https://sites.google.com/site/mediterraneanfloragarden/my-fig-tree-varieties

Is there a chance that these two dark, Italian, good-tasting figs are either the same or closely related?

Today I just ate the first two ripe figs from Marius's 'Unknown Negretta'. No pictures, but the flavor from my second year tree was excellent. Fruits were small but jammy.

It's definitely made it onto my keeper list. Vigorous vegetative growth, attractive foliage, bushy habit, prolific fruits, good taste. It also was easy to root.

Hi! Gina, How are you? Thanks for sharing more information on Marius's Unknown Negretta. I am interested in growing this Unknown Negretta for many months now. I did send a private email to Marius a few month ago but I have not received any replied mail from him. Would you mind sharing the cuttings of this Unknown Negretta with me, please. Thank you.

Tam,i did not get any reply/pm from you....

Hi! Marius,

How are you? I received this message :

The private message sent to mnedelcu on 03/25/14 at 07:26 am has been read. The subject of the message was 'Unknown Negretta'.

So, you did send me the private message; however, I did not receive it. I am sorry I did not know about that. Please let me know when you have the cuttings of your Unknown Negretta available for sell in the future. Thank you.

Best,
Tam

I'm still loving this fig. When I posted in June, the ripe fruits were smallish - but now two months later the fruits are significantly larger - and still excellent tasting. If I could only keep 5 varieties, this would be one of them.

Nice to know Gina, thanks Marius, mine are growing just fine, can't wait for first fruits.
