I discovered the Negronne while watering today. I hadn't noticed them before. They were well hidden. They were perfectly ripe and very sweet. I would say they were the best two figs I've had this year. If I could only have one variety for my area it would be this EL Negronne. I'm going to start air layering this so I have a couple more trees. The 160-50 is a two year old tree about three feet tall. I liked it and its hard to describe the flavor. There was something unique about the flavor that was hard to pinpoint. I also have another video with me sampling some different varieties.

Thats the way to pick negronne. If you let it wait as long as you did, it's a phenomenal fig. Nice job.
I agree about the EL Negronne. If it is allowed to fully ripen, the flavor is really rich.
Always a sucker for a youtube fig video. Thanks.
love the video - as always!
thanks for the video and your honest opinion about flavor of your figs. this helps everyone. good health luke
Good video, you made my mouth water. I was surprised the LSU Gold was not good, maybe wait longer for it to ripen?
The LSUG was a suprise to me too. I had one a couple of days before and it was OK. My mind was saying this is going to be good and it took a second for my taste buds to override my initial thoughts. It was ripe. It just fell into my hand when I touched it in the video. Others are exploding like popcorn with the rain we're having right now.
