Sal the earliest fig we have is called Bacorinhos usually the main crop usually starts in early July. The rest of the figs start in mid August to late october. Some areas like Funchal figs will ripen a little earlier and produce up until november on some years. My uncle lives in Funchal and used to bring us figs 2-3 weeks before we had any ripe figs in our town. Also temps in funchal rarely go below 60 degrees in the winter and the trees still go dormant.
Oh also I forgot to mention this year was also a bad year over there for figs my cousin told me this weekend they are still picking figs from my great grand fathers tree wich is not usually common this late into the season specially in the northen part of the island where its cooler.
