In April 2014, I bought the Nero 600M starter from Ed (ejp3) in New York. The tree had three nice branches. Ed was very nice to me. He sold this starter tree to me for $15 dollars including the shipping. Very nice of you Ed, thanks. I planted this starter in the ground in early May 2014. Since it was on the ground, I found out that one of its branches has single lobed leaves. The leaves are similar to Mulberry leaves. It is very interesting. Thanks for watching.Best,Tam
Nero does seem to do that. Hershell has two.one has the normal finger leaves and the other plant has all mulberry shaped leaves.
Look very happy, Tam. Best of luck with it.
Wills and Frank: Thanks.Best,Tam
That is one healthy fig plant, I really like the varying shaped leaves, it shows character. Congrats on growing it to this size in such a short time.
Hey Tam, there was a thread posted a month or two ago about the very same thing, I can't find it at the moment but maybe you can search for it, or maybe someone else has the link to it. It seems that a lot of people growing nero 600m has these two different types of leaves, I know my tree does.
Here are 2 of my post on my 2 Brown Turkey Nots!. I do believe they are Nero 600m.http://figs4funforum.websitetoolbox.com/post/local-nursery-brown-turkey-not-5888030?pid=1273921187#post1273921187here is the other one:http://figs4funforum.websitetoolbox.com/post/brown-turkey-not-6526410?pid=1279538709#post1279538709cheers!
Tam here is a picture of mine which is doing the same thing, when I first saw it I thought might become a new fig species little did I know it's a common occurrence with the 600M I air layered that limb for the heck of it ?
Very nice and interesting.
