It is young,in the forth year but despite bad climatic conditions this Summer,it is one cultivars in a handful here in my Garden that Managed to have excellent fruits despite ,rain and humidity.
I think it is got a big future:

Herman2 -- do you find this variant hardy ?? This season I have tasted some awesome small dark figs like VdB and Petite Aubique. It is welcome news that Nero600M is excellent tasting.

Paully:Believe me I did not have any Violette Type fig ripe properly to date this year.
I mean I have mature Vista,Violette de Bordeaux and Aubique Petite,and with small differences,they are related,I have no doubt.
All these three were my best Tasting fig cultivars in 2009,and 2010,but not this year,when they only made hardly edible fruits,due to the climate here this year,so bad it was.
Nero 600M is not a Violette type ,tho it looks close.
It was also sold as ,Valle Calda by the same gardener I got mine under Nero 600m name.
I have seen Valle Negra cultivar that Giuseppe Tozzi,got from Italy,and I am sure it is the same  cultivar.
But Violette de Bordeaux ,no,that is a different cultivar.
What is good about Nero 600M, is that it seem to be better in rainy conditions.
Violette de Bordeaux type has no rival in taste and quality,in good Summer type climates,but it is not good in rainy Summer like this year and last.
I also had another year,I think it was 2005,when My Violette and George M, Violette de Bordeaux in North Jersey ,open up like a flower and ,tasted sour.
This new black fig,(Nero 600m),i got from France looks like in my climate is the one I need to end up my souring splitting problems when ripening under rainy conditions.
Paul,yes this fig is hardy,tho it seem it is a little later to ripe compared to Violette,but that could be because it is young,and it will become earlier,the older it gets.

Herman2  -  Nero600M have intrigue my interest when the 1st posting was made on it. All along I was nudged into believing that there must be a better tasting small dark fig than Hardy Chicago, Black Ischia, Sal's, Gypsy. For now, in my area I would say VdB & P.Aubique are best given the right(hot) growing conditions. I am even more convinced after sampling how superb they tasted at Marius(Ohio) place. With Nero600M trials in your region been very promising, it is a most welcome addition to the small/medium dark fig family in North America. Thanks for this update on Nero600M & hopefully more feedbacks from other collecters next season. By the way, have you trial the 2 heirloom figs named Rocco & Fortisi ?

I like what I see. This is great and can not wait til next year to taste fruit from young tree. I planted my small tree in 25 gal pot this year, and it's taken off. My plans are to plant in ground in May after frost concerns have past.

How does this fig compare to Nero, and brogiotto Nero? Are they related, in the same family or totally different?

I agree its a very good fig. I grow it in the greenhouse but despite overwatering the fruit is really fine and even drying on the tree.
And its quite hardy. Never lost a plant even in very cold winters.
