Dennis, I received my plant as Nero Barnissote but like Herman had mentioned on that previous post my figs are medium to small brownish figs. Flavor was ok similar to a celeste and seemed pretty resistant to rain I gave it away this past season as it just not good enough for me to waste time on.

The Brown Brogiotto Nero is a misnomer.
The UCD Barnisotte is the real thing, but diseased and sensitive to adverse climatic conditions.
The Nero 600M,is a Black fig,Indeed "Nero".(black),when ripe, healthy, but smaller in fruit size than UCD Specimen
For me here ,in NJ,Nero 600m,is doing very well, for the difficult climate, yet,
I wish i could have a UCD type specimen healthy enough to grow here.

Pix 1,2,3,:Barnisotte,UCD The real thing
Pix 4,5,:Nero 600m, a very nice Nero in deed but not Barnisotte.
