The first one to ripen and it definitely needs more time. Didn't have a lot of flavor but was very similar to VDB. About a 6 for now.
Thanks for the pictures Mike i had heard they were similar in taste.
Looks really nice. I got a young Nero 600 at our NJ Fig Fest (Thanks Tim) and I am excited with its prospects in the futureCoop
Mike: Very nice, thanks for sharing.Best,Tam
This is the second one to ripen this season thanks to the fig shuffle. This one is much better than the first with a fairly sweet berry taste. The skin was not tough as I thought it would be this late and it also had a sweetness to it. I would give this one an 8 and say ithas a lot of potential here in the deep south.
I just put mine in the ground this morning:)
Mine will get a permanent home in the spring.
You will love it.Violette de Bordeaux is a good cultivar but it does not shine when get ripe in rain. This will, even in the rain, and that is very important.
Hopefully I can score one off of ebay.
Mike: Very nice fig, thanks for sharing.Best,Tam
That's great to know it's suited to this area . You test them for me.
