Never give up!

Some of these were rooted as early as November, sat and did nothing until today.  I have others still sitting.   :)

And if that wasn't enough good news, I posted this while making chicken and morels.   :)

Yes I agree. I have several that look like yours. I know they are alive becose they are green or at least part of the stem is green. I have had them drop all there leaves and sit there for several weeks just to green up in the last week or so. No idea why, cool weather and something???  All my figs are rooted cuttings  or cuttings rooting or starter plants. I did dig up a fig stump and broke it apart and it is growing up form the roots. Figs are strong willed and like to grow.

I have to agree with you Bob. Your pictures tell the story.
Why didn't you post pictures of the chickens and morels?

Ditto to Rafed's comment.
Thats a salad on top of those pots. lol

Glad about your figs, but more please about the morels. Did you pick them yourself? If so, any morel hunting tips?

Wow!! Congrats. Six months later, I wonder if mine will do that, I'll be in a looney bin if I have to wait 6 months.
Anddddd.....you cook too! I agree with rafed, post pics of your culinary delights next time.

Hooray for your figs.   Here's a picture of my lucky loquats.  I waited 10+ years as I planted it from a seed.  This year is the very first year with fruit!

And what do you know.  Chickens showing up here with my loquats.    They weren't too interested.  There's never been chickens around here.  I believe it was illegal to have chickens in the city, but I think an ordinance was passed recently allowing backyard chickens.  These are the neighbor's chicks.  I hope they are girls and the coyotes don't get them.

Well it goes to show that "you can't keep a good fig down"....very nice pictures Bob...and very encouraging.    :)

I picked them myself.  I got to go hunting once and get very lucky.  Many pounds.  Now all my time goes to up potting figs.  The best tip I can give is to join the nearest mycological society.  Every Spring they'll have at least 1 morel foray and they show you good spots and you get a feel for the local habitats.  In Oregon you look for burns and grand firs.  Here we look for cottonwoods.  In your area it will be different.

Congrats on the loquats!
