Hello everyone on this forum.

I am new to growing Fig Trees and I just bought my first one recently.
I live in zone 7.
I was considering planting my fig tree in the area near my house.  Do you guys think this is a good idea?  And where exactly should I plant it?
I have attached some pictures of the area and my fig tree.
Also does anyone have any idea what type of fig tree it is the pot just said green?

Does that spot get full sun? I so then it is a great spot. No way of telling the type yet without fruit.

Welcome, Brandon!

As long as that spot gets at least 6 hours of direct sun it should be suitable. However, it looks very moist. Is it under a gutter? Also, it looks very close to that wall and foundation. You should allow a good 8 feet from the foundation and wall to give yourself some room to reach the tree from all sides. Good luck!

Bran, welcome!  In What exposure is this tree planted on?  I mean E-W-N or South?  Try to put it on the southern exposure (south side of house), protected by the house from the north winds and you will do fine.  Thats what I do and I am in West Islip.  Where are you?

I live in Westhampton Beach!  It is a Eastern exposure, but that is the best I can do considering the southern exposure is surrounded by huge trees as well as the other 3 exposures.  For the moisture it has been raining the last couple days.
