New Fig tree / didn't plant in time / leaves dried / fell off

Can I save this tree?

I don't see the tree, but it's hard to kill a Fig.

I had intended on potting it.  It is in a very small "transplant" size pot now, but it dried out, leaves wilted, then fell off... Any recommendations on how to revive it?  OR just plant as normal and hope for the best....

Could you post a photo?  I don't know.  Without the picture, it's hard.  But Figs are actually weeds, and it should come back, unless something has disturbed its roots and nervous system.

I would water it and place it in a shaded place and wait and see if it starts putting out new leaves.

weeds...like that feral fig on the roof top posted earlier today. A tough tree if ever there was one.

hi,
Plant it, water it, fertilize it, every 2 days, and hope for the best .
If the tree had some hardened wood, it should grow again, but possibly you will have to wait until July to see it bounce back.
Only time will tell !

Jdsfrance,

I don't think fertilizing a dry or dried out plant is a good idea at all.  Fertilizer tends to make unhappy plants more unhappy.

Greetings, I've been following this thread as well and I'm wondering exactly how long of time was this tree in a condition of "not being planted in time"? And where was this tree during that period of time? In greenhouse, out in baking sun, semi-buried in mulch 'til potting time, etc. I'm wondering just how long of time. We all might be trying to provide info on a dry-as-a-bone stick that has no chance! So, we need more info and some pictures. Roots all dried and shriveled to dust? Or pliable and life-like?
