new fig trees stopped growing.

I bought two Chicago fig trees in the spring, they looked like root stock. They did very well, I have them in planters so I can bring them inside for the winter. So my problem is that it seems that they have just stopped growing. They both have fruit on them but they have not gotten any bigger. Infact one plant is smaller than the other also with fruit but they are not growing anymore. Looking for help and advice.

Thanks very much for the help.

I never grew inside except for some rooted cuttings, but fig trees love fresh air and sunshine . There is good chance if kept indoors eventually you will start getting bugs flying around such as knats thats been my experience and i dont like to start them in winter cause of this unless no other choice then they go in small room.

Martin, thanks for the reply. Actually they have been outside since the spring. Any thoughts on why they have stopped growing?

Ah i misread your post. Not sure why they are not growing . None of the buds are opening at all or is plants just really slowed down ? I never heard of plant doing very well then all of a sudden completely stop growing . If you can post pictures perhaps others can help also.
Also figs on tree will grow during season to a certain size then no more growth and when there ready they will start to swell and start to turn another shade of color at first. Its a turning point for them after waiting so long as they sare beginning the process to ripen.
