From your information, that same Michael (F--------d) lived near Harrison Bay, Tn on the lake and indeed has a nice fig orchard and sells many of his figs to the local restaurants. His trees are large and healthy. He irrigates from the lake, so no chloride and many of his trees are shaded by tall pines and being on the lake, he dodges the cold winters. His location in Tessessee is about as ideal as you can get in our zone. I bought several fig trees in pots from him. I got Ken, Kennedy, Flanders, Green and Brown Greek varieties, Jerupa and tried to buy a small fig that he called Lovengen. The names of the figs that the grows are what the donors told him when he bought them. The trees were healthy when I bought them but they were planted in the ground too young. I still have in pots, Brown Greek and Flanders. He is a knowledgeable and capable grower and not a scam artist. The day I was there several years ago, I ate about 30 fresh figs from about that many varieties and he sold some out of his fridge that were in egg cartons.
