New Growth

Hi Guys,

It's been a while.
I cut back my "Brown Turkey" fig tree
to about four feet and made four cuttings.
I left three leaves on the tree and thought
it would start going dormant.
Well it's getting buds now where the leaves are.
Is this normal?
Will this new growth have time to harden off
before the winter?
I can move it in the house where it is cool, but
not as cool as the garage.

Hi Buster i saw this thread while looking around and see no response perhaps someone can help.
Curious how old is tree, i know when one cuts top part of tree though it forces lower and horizontal growth, you question if i read it right is will the new growth created have time to harden off?
I think some might come back thats started and some might not , but long as main trunk does survives next spring you will be fine and it then will spring new growth for figs.
Im thinking without seeing pictures your tree has 1 trunk and not in bush form as you mentioned you left but 3 leaves.
