Welcome to the forum
There are very nice figs in your area.. Two in particular have drawn my attention for quite some time..

One is shown on the outstanding FICUS gallery of 'mundani' .. see these links:

The other fig (a black cultivar with red pulp)  is apparently cultivated on the main Island and is identified by the local name of 'Brigoriña'

Are these two varieties current in the archipelago ?? and could we buy them ? -young bare roots or scions ?

Would very much like to hear your comments on this.
Thank you

I think you are talking about "bicariña" there are a few kind of this...because the variety of figs in every island is high...there are a study of the fig in the island archipiélago but is too short ,like brevas there are a lot but in my island ...the smaller island there are 4 kind that everyone wants to have. The angelina is in the main island...I have a cutting of this..but is too small.I have to study how to upload photos in this forum

This link takes you to a very detailed  report on Canary Islands figs, outline and describing a good deal of varieties.

Are fig trees common on your island ?
What fruit is the most present locally ? Are figs easy to buy in stores ?
