New Indoor Fig Light

Wanted to share my experience with this product on Amazon for anyone else who might be considering buying one...

I received the light some days ago. A corner of the box was crushed and a bulb was broken. I took photo's and sent them email via Amazon.

Today I got a phone call from the seller. They reviewed the photo's and decided it was bad that I received the product in that condition so they are sending me a totally new one.

Actually the one I have works fine and I only requested a replacement bulb. That's customer service at its finest IMO. It's a darn good light too for the price. I won't need to burn the 1000 watt metal halide this winter and with another light on the way it looks like I can do some more experimenting!

Looks nice, I have a Metal Halide now, but it is not enough for my collection anymore. Thanks for this recommendation.  Perhaps I should contact you about your approach to indoor winter growing.

Charlie thanks a bunch for sharing all the great info you've gathered from your research! It's EXACTLY what I'm needing right now.. Going to check the light out on amazon ASAPola!

I have a Sun System with a ballast that I set up in my small dining room for the two-three months of “winter” here. When I used it out in a plastic greenhouse tent with mango trees, I had it on a light rail trolley and it would sweep back and forth over the trees so hot I had to be careful about the spacing and placing so they wouldn’t burn. But it worked great for heat as well as light, covered the whole rectangular area there, and is still going strong now when and where I need it. The bulbs are better bought locally. One local dealer said that for every three to four bulbs shipped to him, only one would work after being bumped around in the shipping. The suppliers are great about replacements, but why not get something that works from the start?
The neon light system I have similar to yours is great for starting seeds inside for spring or winter planting, but for I don't know how it would work for a number of fig trees.
