New leaves - Dropping

Hello:

I am new to this forum.

I have a Brown Turkey growing in a 3-gallon pot in the sun room, facing south east. It has 3 large branches and several small branches. There are fruits forming on a few branches, about a dozen. I water it once a day.

I have had this plant for about a month. In the last week or so, I noticed that new leaves forming at the top of the canes dropped off when they are about half an inch long. They did not turn yellow or dry out; just dropped when green.

I would like to know what I did wrong. I don't want to kill this one. It is beautiful.

Thank you,
Rikki

Sounds like new growth on a cutting, which do that sometime, seemingly when there aren't enough roots to support them. I have never seen is on a tree of that size. I would guess it is a response to some shock - to a significant change in sun or watering or humidity or something else.

I have had young plants indoors drop green leaves with just a touch of the hand because of low humidity.
Just a thought.  ; )

If it gets direct sun light now, try to move it away from the direct sun light and see if the tender emerging leaves will stop dropping.
I had a couple of plants placed in front of the windows doing this in January and February and I realized it was due to cold radiation when it was extremely cold outside -8F (+/-), almost like freeze-dried. Removing it from window exposure stopped dropping the leaves. In your case it is not cold radiation but try anyway and see if removing from direct sun will help.
