Welcome Larry, I'm new here too and growing figs for a little while now. I had olive trees but, in a zone 6B climate in pots they don't do well unless you put them in storage for the winter since they are sub- tropical. Figs in containers aren't much different because your restricting the roots and well as cold air is blowing against the pot.i have lots of experience with trees and plants.
