New member... Pruning guidelines

Greeting, I was wondering if anyone had pruning guidelines/tips for container grown figs. Any help would be appreciated. My collection is very young but growing too fast.

Welcome Donti,
There are many threads about pruning. Put pruning in the search bar and you'll have plenty of reading.

thanks

a simple pruning technique, sometimes called open center, often used on peach and plum trees. try a search for "pruning" and search in subjects for more pruning results.
Keep in mind that main crop figs are produced on new growth (this season's) at leaf nodes, so by increasing the number of branches, you will be increasing the number of figs. The above technique establishes the main scaffold branches and location of yearly fruiting branches within a fixed optimum shape and size. Also IMO if the dormant plant is wintered in an environment just at or above freezing, the tree will wake up faster and produce figs earlier.
Hope this helps. Good Luck.
