Thanks for posting new pics. Paully22

Jon, i put my tree's in garage and you put up pictures of more figs got to love you folks out there in sunny California, ahem saying that in my Arnold impersination.  ; )
Nice pictures by the way i really like those closeups you take they are somethinig else.
Martin

Paully,

I guess I wasn't very accurate. Many of the numbered varieties are technically UCR xxx-xx, in the USDA accession lists, so look under "U". I don't know what makes the difference, but I try and follow their nomenclature, but I just lump all of the numbers together in my head.

Martin,

We just got out of the 90s this weekend, and are supposed to be back there again this coming weekend.

Jon,
I wasn't able to find some of the figs, for examples: the Cilentano, Black weeping, and the Lebanese.

The picture of the Wuhan you added looks way different than what George has.

OK, I added Black Weeping on the main variety page. Cilentano photos are there, and I added the missing the thumbnail on the main page. Lebanese show up for me - only added to the "FN" accession so far. Found a few more things that had old files uploaded instead of the new files. I think I have A-C and #s fixed. Haven't added several things to the indexes yet. I still need to be adopted so I can spend more time on things like this. Any rich people listening? Lurking?

Im lurking but not rich, are you good looking?
Gotcha!!!
Martin

Forgot to add my figs are doing fine in garage and Jon you have a wonderful informative site that i know is a lot of effort on your part.

Martin, if you're not rich, then my looks don't matter. And if you were rich, I would be fine with being adopted by an ugly person. Remember, it's all about doing it for the figs. No sacrifice is too much.

Your Right Jon saying its all about doing it for the figs  ; )

Where is the fruit picture of GM-1?  I'll like to see how it is doing in CA...

I still don't see the photos either....

If I were a rich man,
Ya ha deedle deedle, bubba bubba deedle deedle dum.
All day long I'd biddy biddy bum.
If I were a wealthy man...

I will surely adopt that one hard-working person that knows how to
grow/produce/document (them) figs...

...Ya ha deedle deedle, bubba bubba deedle deedle dum...

... I'd fill my yard with chicks and...

...All day long I'd biddy biddy bum...

(...Of course! I am trying to be somewhat funny here...)

Gorgi, If you were a rich man, you could afford glasses. ;-))

By the way, it is a fabulous tasting fig - every bit as good as it looks, very similar to St. Jerome in flavor. Definitely in the top ten new figs tasted this season. Had the last ones this week.

Jon, living in that warm climate of your do your tree ever go dormant, also one more thing to ask you please if a tree is not allowed to go dormant would it affect it the following season somehow like throw its timing off?
I wonder about this for the real warm climates how tree's react like do they keep producing?
Thanks in advance and i look forward to January for something you might have that im looking for in my climate.

Martin

Jon,
Thanks for the pictures and comment.
But this is what I get when I click on MORE PHOTOS from the F4F site
http://figs4fun.com/Thumbnail_Unknown_GM-1.html
which is the old picture showing just a leaf.

Gorgi ,
when i click on it the picture is different it shows 11 pictures of figs. When i click on you link in question to Jon it shows just 1 leaf nothing else.
Try clearing cookies on computer and reboot then click on the link on forum maybe that might work .
Martin

George is right.
when going into the varieties page, and under unknown gm1 it only shows one leaf. i cleared cookies and tried it on different pcs. and i'm still not seeing the photos for the other varieties jon uploaded.

This is what happens to me.
When i open website i look to left and click fig trees, then the new page shows the bananas on top and i scroll down that page and click plant list in red about midway down middle of page, that brings me to FALL 2008 Available Plants
on top i have choice bananas varietal information or fig varietal information, i click the latter, next page
Welcome to Figs4 Fun (thanks Jon) and on left i click varities, next page last page, this page on top has the alphabet i click letter "G" so now im on G page that list all the g figs by name on left and do not see GM-1 but on right side where there are pictures if you scroll down i see GM-1 with picture of fig and under that pictire it say more photo's so i click that then i see now 11 more pictures of the figs only. Not sure why name is not on left side as they usually are maybe Jon ran out of time or somehow something got mixed up. But this is how it shows on my computer.
Martin

OK, I see the issue. I put the new pix undre GM-1, without realizing that it was also under Unknown GM-1. I will move it all to GM-1. OK, gorgi, skip the new glasses.

As of today (finally...) I do dubb my unknown GM#1 fig as:
"Malta Purple Red", in honor of my native country,
where it actually did come from a long time ago...
You fig people, that got it from me (or otherwise) as GM1,
please take note!
For more info/pictures see post #14 above...

I still like the "Maltese Ficus".
