New plant's leaves very wilted, did I do the right thing?

I've grown been growing a very vigorous Black Greek cutting since later in the winter and have had it on a drip system along with my other potted figs.  Well, unfortunately the drip system got turned off and the pot got dry (along with some of the other figs and plants).  I hooked the system back up and most of the other plants perked right up, but this one is very slow to perk up.  I was a bit drastic and cut back 2-3 nodes of new growth on the Black Greek thinking that the plant would have less to support and might perk up.  Did I do the right thing?  I suppose I'll be able to tell in the morning!

I've since set the watering to come on 3 times a day (up from 2x) since we're getting into the long, warmer days.  For others with a drip system, do you have it come on multiple times a day for shorter intervals, or just once a day for a longer interval?  Mine is set to come on a 9:30am, 1pm, and 5:30pm.  I've been trying to avoid having extra water just run out of the pot rather than be used by the plant.

Tim,

My plants (1/2 or 1-gal pot) get 20 min. every other day. They are on a 1-gal/hr dripper. Used to be every 3rd day when it was cooler. The Black Greek will likely drop leaves. No need to prune preemptively. Good luck!

Well it was tougher than I thought!  It popped right back up overnight and is doing fine now.  Cutting it back may have been smart as well because I just potted it up into a larger pot.  Guess I caught it in time!

Sometimes patience is better than trying a bunch of remedies.

Agreed.  I'll know for next time.  I panicked when it wasn't recovering after 30 mins.  I should've given it a few hours.

I just took an airlayer off and potted it up last week, but I didn't put it in shade first and I lost half the leaves, about 5 days later the leaves that didn't shrivel up and die and starting to pick up and half of those have burned spots or margins but it will survive, the shade helped him out.

Amen.    I have "mothered" to death more than my fair share of trees and cuttings.   I should write that down and read it each time I'm about to check on my trees.
