New rootings

Here are some of my latest rooting. These Branca took off nicely but no buds yet. The first time I try sphagnum.

# 45 Branca

#24 Richards Unknown, these I got from a rice farmer in south central La. a supposed ever bearer. Another sphagnum experiment. I check them a week ago and they only had white bumps. This is what I found a today. The cuttings were root tangled very badly. I thought I'd have to break some roots to untangle them but not so. These root were tough and came apart without breaking any.

Well done Gene. What kind of "marker" did you used for marking "RU". It marks so clear.

I use S.Moss this season and I am impress. I observed cutting roots & their tender shoots can come from any where along the cutting using
SM. I have resorted to potting more the horizontal manner because of such outcomes.

Nice going Gene.
I enjoyed the SM last season as well as this year.

Paully I use a paint marker to mark the cutting and also the cups and pots. Good to draw arrows on cuttings too. You can get them in all colors I'm lucky to get mine from work.

Thanks for the info Gene. Currently I am not happy using the perm. markers. They fade away easily during cleaning/sanitizing. I will check with the paint stores.

Check anywhere that sells toy models.  This can be stores such as WalMart, K-Mart, Target, etc. (not sure what you have up there in CAN)

"Testors" sells great paint markers which are well-suited to writing on cuttings and will not rub off with cleaning.

Thanks Jason.
