Hi everybody! I am new here and figured I should introduce myself. I am Sidney and I love growing edibles though I only have a few. I don't currently have any fig plants nor have I ever tried a fig, however, I plan to eventually grow some, and figured I would see what it is all about. :D

Patrick, welcome to the forum. Be sure that the first fig you try is ripe.

What is your location? You can click on the control panel at the top right of the page and enter  your location, zone etc.

Welcome, PatrickStar !  You are in a great location for figs.  Keep your eyes open locally - you may even find good figs growing in parks, culverts and marginal areas, as well as at local nurseries and garden shops.  A good plant doesn't have to be expensive and will get you started (and container culture is easy as it moves up in size).  Good luck!

Thanks for the kind welcome everybody! I'll have to keep my eye out for fig trees around me, would y'all recommend starting with cuttings or a store bought tree? I want to make sure I do this right. Thanks :)

Welcome! I would get a couple potted plants just for the head start. Cuttings can be tricky to root sometimes buts its fun learning and you will go through a learning curve at one time or another.
