Pictures from Francesco Lorusso

Looks like a great fig!  It looks like Panache but the interior is different.  Will you have cuttings in the fall?

Beautiful figs!

What else can you share about this new variety? Is it a sport of another known fig?

Mike in Hanover, VA

It looks like a Honey fig, like Kodota or Peter's Honey.  Is it a common fig or Smyrna type?

Thanks, Looks great!

Wow! Is it bigger than Panache? I wonder it is smyrna type or not?

If it has a European source to buy I'm in... :)

Cool I wonder how it tastes

At first I thought it was a Panache because of the striping. I wonder if the are related/mutant to each other.

Is this fig from Italy?
The fig looks similar to Fico Rigato.  One of the striped figs in Italy.

Just curious but are fico rigato and rigato del selento the same fig?

Don't know I don't have this fig and haven't seen any on this forum.

Here is a link that talks about some figs from Salento.

Translated says;
it has several synonyms(fico rigato, variegate, rigata) and has been in the Salento area since 1850.  This is in the Region of Puglia another great fig growing area.

Looks like the answer to your question is yes although I would think there are different strains of same fig growing in other areas.

Cool, thank you! The pictures of the two looked so similar to me it seemed odd they wouldn't be the same. Does your rigato lose its stripes when mature?

If anyone want this varrity caontrac Fracesco in Italy.

He live on Puglia, He speak only Italy.

Thank you. Does he speak any other language than Italian? Does he send plants by post within the European Union (to Hungary)?
