My High tunnel fig trees have finally awakened , too bad it is still cold here. It only got up to 38 degrees today and tonight it is already 32. The trees should be ok in the tunnel though. There is a lot of vegetation and I watered the crops very well before I closed the tunnel up for the night. There are 300 tomatoes 200 egg plant 200 pepper plants and 3 fig trees in my 28 x 120 unheated greenhouse.
Oh the cuttings I got this year have yielded me: 5 Mission figs, 3 raspberry latte, 3 desert king 1105 2 desert king the other number and 1 Marceillus vs. not too bad for my first attempt ever to root.These have all been successfully transplanted to 1/2 gallon pots . I have left the other cuttings in their tree plug flat and two more look as if they might also be rooting. The temp and humidity is pretty high next to the flat. I have 36 turkey eggs and 40 chicken eggs and 5 goose eggs in the incubator next to the flat. The top of the incubator is 82 degrees and I thought the transplants would be right at home there:)
