That was one of the reasons I joined the forum Frank. I was afraid of an expensive disappointing ordeal of trying different figs without getting some expert advice. Everyone has been so helpful and the suggestions I have gotten are great. I have several varieties right now and am hoping I don't murder too many of them.
Reading about the potting mixes even has probably saved me hundreds. I would have just put them in dirt with some fertilizer. Y'all would have had a really good time watching me at Lowe's today. I had to wrestle a huge heavy bag of pine mulch over the tailgate of my hubby's suv because I can't get the back door open so I opened the back window and hefted it in that way. It felt like I was trying to heft a hippo over a fence. I'm just glad it wasn't manure.
