Newbie Rooting question

So, I received some cuttings from Adelmanto (thanks again) and I got busy and just set them aside for longer than I should have.  Today I decided to finally follow his instructions regarding washing, dunking in bleach solution, etc and found this....Has it already rooted?  What do I do with it now?  Go ahead and stick in coir?   Thanks for all your suggestions and help.  Totally new to figs (you guys are enablers). IMG_4127.JPG

Where was the cuttings at ? In a bag with moisture? Refrigerator.

It was in a plastic bag, wrapped in a paper towel, sitting on my piano bench.  No moisture.

The paper towl was moist that he shipped it in also if your not going to root cutting the go in the refrigerator. But no worries. What you did is one method of rooting. Put in a cup with holes and a rooting medium like coir which you can get at pet smart. You have to hydrate coir first. Then when fully wet. Grab a big hand full and squeeze water out then put in cup with you cutting. If there is no mold dont wash because of the tender roots. Good job. Nice roots. ADelmanto shipps his cuttings in moist papper towls in a plastic bag. Thats were the moisture came from. Now,when you get cuttings in always take them out wash and wrapp in plastic and always put in refrigerator.

His instructions said to do so....I just had a crazy couple of weeks and forgot.

Thanks.  I have coir from rooting plumerias.  Just was not expecting to see roots so quickly.

Really is,a awsome root job !!! Now you know it doesn't take much water. Just a little to much watet and they will rot. I lost lots of cuttings do to to much moisture.

Hi Melissa! Glad you love figs too! ADelmanto is great with probiding info with his cuttings. Glad you got a piece of the action :-). Thx for posting your picture! Post more when you can.

Cool you did without trying what many fail to do trying multiple times. :)

Charlie you got that right. Melissa has found her rooting system.

Hi,i place cuttings in anything really,it just has to hold a little water and lots of air.Water is the killer.Note how the roots avoid the fine bit of mix. These bits came back from Greece the end of October, now in five weeks  they are away, this sin a bag on the window cill. DSC02839.JPG

Thanks, everyone.  This is the only one that appears to have rooted on its own.  It's his U. Somerset.  All three cuttings have formed roots to some degree.  (the one pictured has the most).  This morning I'm transferring them to coir.  None of the others have roots.  Maybe I should actively attempt something with those (haha).  I doubt they will all just magically root for me like this one did.

I'm trying to get a good fig going for my dad.  He has an unloved Brown Turkey.  (taste isn't good and it is a stingy producer).  He was going for a Black Mission and somehow ended up with a Brown Turkey.  I want to replace his tree for him with something that produces well and tastes great (he loves figs).  I think these cuttings I received are a good start.
