Newbie- what dwarf fig, zone 9(b?), ripe in sept-oct

Have read a lot of the forums...confused. We are Torontonians who live on the Med. coast in south-east France from Mar-May, mid-Aug-end Oct. I have a spot (with not the best drainage, but rain is scarce exc when it isn't(!)) for a fig I'd like to remain small (6') so as not to block the view. Should ripen when we are here. Local wild figs have a spring crop that falls onto the ground green. This would be beside a 5' wall on the west of the tree, so sun is not full all the time but it is in the summer.
Didn't know I can grow figs in Toronto, so thanks for that info on the forum...will have to look into that!
Thanks.

Negronne or Dalmatie would be your best options. They're both not vigorous growers and ripen during those months.

Her's a link to Baud nursery. They're specialized in figs and are not far from where you live. You can also have your tree delivered by mail, check out the tarifs section.

Hi Karinr,
At that location, you could plant any fig normally .
But if size matters then, go "Pastiliere" or more productive and effective at production go "Goutte d'or".
"Dalmatie" is another option.
The size of the fruits of "Goutte d'or" make it the first class choice.
For fun and prestige, you could try "Panache", and if you have the fig-wasp around, Ice Crystal is a good looking plant.
Good luck !
