Each with their own unique characteristics. Anthonys' black fig was the clear winner this time around. BHG [nicknamed by some forum members  "Brooklyn Hand Grenade"] for it's huge breba it produced last year. This fig is a well performing Brunswick variant. Anthony's black has a unique leaf that resembles a big grape leaf as seen in the picture. Enjoy the photo's.        Angelo  Zone 7A NY

Angelo, those are some amazing looking figs!  I love the dark figs but I have to say the size and color of the BHG looks very appealing.  =)  Thanks for the pics and the descriptions.

Angelo, I like the look of the fig and leaf of Anthony's Black. Does it taste much like your HC?

Woohoo

Looks great! Looking forward to mine

  • Art, I would say the flavor is similar, but the AB was more intense. I have tasted the HC in different levels of ripeness ,however I picked all these figs because we have been getting a lot of intermittent rain this week .   Jules , Thanks for the compliments .  Jennifer, thank you and good luck..  Angelo

wow what a gorgeous collection of figs, all colors together like on an artist's pallet. I can just imagine how much fun to sample all of them.
