Herman
Are these all really ripe?
Or you are doing like I am doing now to pluck off the fruit a bit early to beat that 'something' to it which may be a raccoon or squirrels (most probably raccoon because they beat me to it during the night if I leave the fig to ripe a bit more. Not that I have too many ripe figs but those 'something' beat me to it oftento th efew I have . Next year I would like to beat 'them' to it with better protection.

Nice looking figs H. I hope these Marseilles Black cuttings I bought from you this spring take off next year. I can't wait to taste them. Here are the pictures, they've done well. Thanks.

Herman I'd pay 20 dollars for that pan of figs or maybe more. Those look great.

Tim, your started trees look like they're doing fine.  I see you've got quite a spread of trees in the background too, real nice.

They are as ripe as they can get.
The heat was not enough here so they are in this stage for many days.
If i do not harvest them ,they will all spoil,at the next rain, that will come.
They have a certain number of days to get ripe, from when they start.
If they do not,in that interval, then they will start gettin spoiled.
That is a problem that can be worse in your climate.
That is why you need the earliest ripening cultivars, that needs the least heat accumulation, for you in Canada.
Trying to grow late exotic, cultivars there,is a waste mof time,in Canada and other cooler climates.
