I am tired of these pop ups that keep bombarding me everytime I try to read someones post on GW/FF, right in middle, a pop up comes up and blocks my view!!  I have had it with them, I stay at Jon's site here, this is the place to be when I check in on the activity.  Drive me Pazzo!!!!!!  I couldn't even log in because I wanted to help someone this morning, wouldn't let me login on GW/FF.  To everything there is a season, well that season is over. Sorry to hear that but have you considered using Firefox or Chrome as a default browser?

I prefer f4f but GW has a higher level of traffic.

on GW I never see any pop ups with firefox...

I use Google Chrome, I never, never get pop ups

And it is NOT my default browser!

It's true the GW has a lot more traffic and there's a forum for almost anything. I use Chrome at home with the pop up blocker and I don't notice it.
I like here that you can edit your post. I also like all the friendly people we have here..

Maggie I agree with you I nearly put my fist through the monitor yesterday not going to GW anymore and I now hate Chunky soup more than ever.

Ciao amici! what do you mean Chunky soup Nelson?  Is that one of the many pop ups that have been occurring?  I really wanted to help someone this morning and tried at least 5 times to log in.  there are alot of nice people here and I like the speed and the more family atmosphere here. I hope some of the others will find out about this site that is here and maybe come over to the other side so to speak.  I will ask husband about the chrome and all that other stuff, he will better understand it than me.  I don't mix with alot of the technical aspects very well, Hubby is much more quick and knows how to do that stuff.  Leave it to me, Cecil and many people tried to explain to me how to put pics here, I have still not learned how yet, Will have Tony do this for me.

Yes Maggie I keep getting that Campbells chunky soup when ever I go on GW and other pop ups from GW sick of it. I used firefox today just to see and no pop ups so it may be with just Internet explorer but it is annoying because im always chasing the threads since the pop ups keep moving them down its a battle everytime.

Its also a pain for me aw well. sure it gets more traffic big deal, it takes foreve to bring up the forum and it takes forever when i try to load a post.
Iv'e been going there since 2005 and it steadly got worse period.
Also i know what ya mean when that darn pop up thing follows your movement sheesh. NO i dont want another browser just to fix a problem, heck i can load ebay when i look at model trains with no problem and they get a ton of traffic so whats with the GW loading slow for me?
So now i go there and if the stars are in PEFECT alignment then i can read a few post but i just dont go there like i used to, bet ya i got more post here than over there and been member here for less time.
Oh well i guess theres worse things like squirells and birds and mice and ants and ladybug and slugs and bee's and raccons and chipmunks and RKN but GW forum wont be seeing me as much anymore like i said when the stars are in Perfect alignment then i will be able to load that darn page.
I really need to enjoy my figs darn it...............

I get annoyed with pop ups on GW too but get a lot more annoyed when looking for the "X" for Exit and I get the feeling that it keeps on changing the corner position. I guess standardizing the Exit position will be against their interest.

Yes, I hate the pop-ups too, and I'm with George on the chunky soup.  However, my problem today is the tiny little snake that popped up on my floor in front of the patio door. 

I've been wondering why so many of you were over here on F4F; now I know why I came over too.

Ottawan, just right click on the GW/FF in the task bar and close it that way, they can't hide that one from Ya.

Thanks Cecil, right click on the GW/FF task bar did work. I wanted to do more duck shooting with right click in the task bar but no pop-up was showing up for a long time.

It did not work today. May be yesterday was just a coincidence that the ads disappeared.
What task bar`are you referring to? Do you mean to reopen the GW/FF page.

I bough many Campbell soup cans today like clam chowder soup (with Atlantic Provinces clams), mushroom cream soup, celery cream soup in what they call truckload sale. It appears like a Campbell Soup blitz going on everywhere. At least today the ads really look redundant.

Well i bit the bullet and got my nose bloody doggone it.
Wentt to garden web just to lurk or should i say snooze this late evening.
I saw a post that caught my interest and responded more wasted time,
i just dont get it everything loads fine on this machine except that darm GW.
Well i go there once a week and usually watch the icon in upper right corner spin away and away and away then sometimes the whold machine locks up where i cannot click out of the page, oh well once a week no one misses me thats for sure.

What type of browser do you use. Is it Explorer or Firefox or what? I have not had any problems with Firefox. The other problem may be your internet connection. Do you have DSL or dial up?

Bozoshoes,  I don't have dial up. The pop up thing is under control, husband did something, But..................... they won't let me log on.  I try to log on and can't get in. I didn't receive any booting notices. Maybe they didn't like what I said. Oh well, I have to much to do these days to worry about it. Just feel bad if I wasn't able to help someone there who isn't a member here. But they'll still get their good advice from the many of the other great members. Ciao
