so had few figs off the tree as making my rounds. the trees are dropping leaves, ones that didn't get the water, but they are looking better as in some of the buds are still green. and the leaves were perking up before dropping so i assume the plumbing is still working.
i still have to say that Paradiso Gene is truly good fig. had few that were good and sweet. much better just plucked from the tree and directly into my mouth without washing and all that other stauff.
Kahtleen's Black is finally getting some nice taste to it, but i still say it taste just like Paradiso Gene.. just looks different.
VdB this yr has been a let down. it just doesn't that that "wow". not sure what's going on.
Ischia White is a big surprise. ton of promises.
Calvert, i'm definitely looking forward to next yr.
Genovese Nero is just turning color, so i'm hoping i'll get to taste if before the end of the season.
Figo Preto and Black Madeira are still green. not even swelling yet.
Longue D'Aout has one fig that's swelling. i'm hoping to sample that one soon.
JH Adriatic is also swelling. CdDB is still just hanging there.
the yr started out slow with cold weather and lot of rain, but with good figs in my tummy, it doesn't look all that bad after all :)
