Today didn't start so good I was in the greenhouse checking on the figs and accidentally brushed against one of my potted tomato plants. I hadn't realised how top heavy that plant had become and that small brush was enough to bring the whole thing crashing down. Everything is tightly squeezed in my greenhouse and the result was a load of tomatoes on the floor and half dozen figs knocked off.
Anyway among the figs was a Noire de Caromb earmarked for picking in a couple of days.
Well I wasn't going to throw it because it wasn't ripened to perfection. So I had it with my salad and it was great. I'm not sure it would have been any better if I had left it the extra two days.
