Back atcha noob!

Welcome and where from NC are you? There are a bunch of fig lovers in NC and south of the border in SC.

I'm from the coast, but spent time in Raleigh as well.  Yes, this is a great part of the country for figs.  Do you know any folks from NC/SC on here?

From one newbie to another, Welcome!

Great to be here! Anyone in NC want to say hello?

Hi and welcome.  Nice wish list!  What varieties have you warmed up on?

Thanks Charlie.  I have a Petite Negri, a Violette De Bordeaux (a lot of folks think that the PN and VDB are the same, and mine are VERY similar; however, the PN produces some branches with spade shaped leaves while the VDB had pretty much uniform foliage) Hardy Chicago, Black Mission variant (not so long story), and an Olympian. I used to work in the service industry and a lot of my customers had fig trees that they would let me snack on from time to time.  Most of them were Brown Turkey or Celeste, but occasionally someone would have a different unknown variety. After some time I decided it was time to finally get some trees of my own. I am looking forward to having a few different varieties to highlight some of the different features of the various cultivars, and also to have a collection that allows me to have fruit over a broad season.  That is my goal.  I have limited room (seems to be a problem with most figaholics), so I have to plan accordingly. Luck for me, everyone in my family loves figs almost as much as me, so they don't complain... much :)
