Great looking !

Don't complain Marius.
Just enjoy them for as long as they are coming, ripe and sweet.

Very nice looking!!!!

Marius , NICE fig's!! How would you describe the taste ?

Marius, looks good. Maybe another for my list.

Hello Marius,

Thanks for posting pics and info. How is the taste? Other that sweet does it have any other flavor (fig, Rich, fruit). I've read good reviews but little on flavor

That is a good sign. Sounds great that Norland doesn't ripen all the fruits at the same time, which mean it has an extended growing season, plus cold hardy. Thank you for sharing.

Marius,  Do you have the Nordland in ground?

I like the leaves, they almost look like the Ice Crystal fig.

Art,my Nordland is in a 35 gal (garbage trash drum) pot...

Nice indeed. Thank you and thank the Swiss.

It is indeed a great tasting fig with good size.

I have one from a good friend in Las Cruces. It did not produce figs this year but the leaves are ornate. From photos I have seen, the fig looks very similar to Longue D'Aout. Even the leaves bear some resemblance to LdA. Wondering if it isn't a sport or variant of the same fig?
Does any one know if Nordland produces two crops? If so, what does the breba look like? Thanks.

Marius,
thx for the pic.'s and info.

Wow!  This is THE FIG for those in cold climates!  Thanks for sharing!  How you get your hands on these amazing figs is beyond my brain!

They look great, Marius! Raintree Nursery offers a fig called Nordland - wonder if it is the same.

Marius, nice figs! Is it early, when does the figs start to get ripe?

From Raintree Nursery:

This variety, Nordland Bergfeige is originally from Switzerland and considered among the hardiest figs. It is able to survive to 10 degrees F and possibly lower. It is a brownish fig and very sweet and tasty. It was recommended to us as a good choice for cooler maritime climates and it has proven to thrive at the WSU Mt. Vernon station in Western Washington.

Marius and Bass, do you know if it is the same as yours?

Yes, that's the same fig, unless Marius got his from a different source. I have also heard from a European grower that this can be the same as longer d'aout but not sure about that.

Here's my first Norland. As far as taste is concerned, it topped all my first year figs.
I was wondering as to why the color of my fig is lighter than yours Marius. My fig came from a nursery in Washington.

It is one on my list. Have been looking at this fig awhile now.

Awsome pics thanx

I have Nordland but it did not produce figs this year. Looking at pics that have been posted, it closely resembles Longue D'Aout, possibly a sport of LdA?
Has anyone had an opportunity to compare the two varieties to generate an opinion?
