Nostalgic about spring now!

As I literally can hear the sound of my fig leaves hitting the ground as they fall I remember the day taking this picture last May!

this was in july.. well past spring.. i miss summer when the figs are hanging on the tree..

Yes I think were all felling a little bit of that right about now. Have to keep ourselves buisy during these colder months with rooting our cuttings, trading with one another, and dreaming about when that package will arrive from UC Davis. Got the "Fig Withdrawal Blues".

Speaking of UC Davis, I requested my first order this year and received the order's confirmation. Does anyone have an idea of what percentage of varieties they usually fill?

I've always got everything I order, but I typically keep my order under 10 varieties of ficus carica, 10 vitis vinifera, and less of poms and olives.

They say in the spring a young man's fancy turns to thoughts of love....NOT ME !!!!  That was a loooooong time ago.  That was then, and, this is now.

I'll take the figs.  They can't talk.

... and you can have more than one, and no one's feeling is hurt :)

You guys are funny.

Women like figs too. Figs don't watch football, and they don't leave their dirty sox on the floor. ;)

ps... here in my part of Cali, we're still picking ripe figs, and the trees are still actively growing. It's cool right now, but last week was in the 80*s.

Pete.. that is one AMAZING fig! Awesome photography!  Which kind is this one, do you know?

Grasa,

That's my Paradiso Gene.

That is one advantage of being in a warm area.....winter does not come until December and spring comes in February.  We do still get a taste of cold which helps to knock back the bugs and diseases.
