not a happy camper right now..

the puppies destroyed Socorro Black, St. Rita, and Niagara Black. not happy at all. i have back up of all of them, but they were all the best ones out of duplicates i had. urgh..

Sorry to hear about the trees. I can commiserate with you. Teething pups are the worst

I take pictures of all the stuff my dogs inevitably destroy. I may not find it funny at the time but laterwhen going through them I can't help but laugh.
"Remember that time Violet ate a a hole in the 100 year old fir floors?" Sad but true. Now we chuckle at the memory.
My weird version of therapy.

Jeez, I'm sorry Pete.

that really sucks. let me know if you end up needing socorro black, mine seem to doing very well/should have extras.

Thats too bad Pete.
On a funny note i recall telling the Mrs to put her slippers in the closet 1 night when our dog was a pup .
She put them right next to the bed and woke up to ruined slippers.
"Babe i told ya so"  ; )

i'm over it. i do have duplicates. only thing that really bites me is Socorro Black. it's the tiny cutting that survived and put out a leaf after 4 months of doing nothing and held onto that leaf through out the winter. one of the puppy pulled the whole thing out of the soil. i think it's been out of the soil for at least 2 days. i put it back into the soil since the leaf still looked ok.. but i know i'm hoping too much. the cutting is about 1.5" and had two strand of roots at the end. very short and thin roots. urgh.. i'm really surprised that cutting made it this far.

If the leaf looks good and the root's attached you really should be fine.  persianmd2orchard can send me an extra  :)  Wait till you hear about what I just did.  And I don't even have a puppy to blame.

Sorry to hear Pete. Same thing happened to me. My dog had puppies and they were teething. I had just planted some blue berries and grape vines. They pulled all of them out of the ground and chewed them to death. Hope your Socorro comes back.

Pete!!!  That is not a good thing to happen!!  My puppy likes everything in her mouth!!  Sticks, rocks, dandelions (very cute by the way;)  When I take her outside (on leash), she try like hell to get in the garden, and yes she does succeed sometimes!

You might want to look into the exercise pens.  They are indoor/outdoor,  I have one inside for Luce since I can't keep my eyes on her the whole time I'm home.  It has been a great tool to have with her.  She's confined but not locked up in a small crate.

Good Luck!!

yupe. they like to eat everything. it's funny how they will stop every step of the way to chew on something. we do have play pen inside. but occationally, we take them into garage to play. it seems while they were in the garage and while no one was looking their way, one some how got under my john deere, and got to the other side where i kept all my young figs. they tore up the St. Rita (i still have two in cups), Niagara Black (i have one left), and Socorro Black (still have one left on this too). so it's more of my fault for not blocking the way to the figs properly. like my wife said "they are dogs, what do you expect? it's there for them to chew if not put away".

funny thing is, i have 5 Calvert, and 2 Ischia Green where they can get to without any issue, but they have not even looked at them yet. i guess Lucy and Barrette know that those are from UCD collection and not up to their standard.
