Not related but cool

I went to go and check my kiwis last night and look at this little guy. Very rare and endangered pine barren tree frog. Just haning out on a branch of my kiwi vine.

Nice find!

pretty cool

That's great celt. You are one of the fortunate few who live within the range of those little beauties.

If it's possible, you could keep a small kiddie pool (or anything similar) filled with rain water in the spring & summer. Doing so would provide a great place for them to lay their eggs. I know this works because I have rain barrels & the gray treefrogs are always calling from and breeding in them.

Very nice picture by the way!

That is a great idea the swimming pool.

Problem with the pool or pond you would need some fish in there to eat mosquito larva

This is true celt. When the tadpoles get big enough they do start eating the mosquito larvae but that's only for a small portion of the summer.

I have to admit I did start adding two small goldfish to my rain barrels for this very reason. The treefrogs won't lay eggs in a small body of water that has fish in it. They now go to a small pond toward the back of my property (starting this summer).

I still see them clinging to the outside of my windows at night from time to time though. They're always a welcome sight to me.
