not taking any chances tommorow 26 deg on long island

hi gang,
on the weather channel i heard today, that the long
island new york city area is to go as low as 26 deg tommorow
night. i quickly covered all my trees with make shift covers.
i just un wrap them last saturday, but still never uncovered
the late maturing italian cilentano, hopefully this week
should be the last. what do you think?

I think you should keep your covers handy - very close as a matter of fact!!

i'm in buffalo, ny and never unwrap anything till may and with caution last frost is around 3rd week of may. i,ve seen lotsa guys fig tree's die because they bring them out to early .

I'm in eastern Pa, I uncovered mine Last week. They should be okay with this weather, they're still dormant. If they're kept inside a garage and grown in container, then you should worry about the freeze since they probably not fully dormant. If they're grown in ground in the winter and wrapped, They are usually fully dormant.
The fig branches are hardy to 12-15 F degree when fully dormant. If they're in a container never allow it to go below 32F.
So, Marcantonio your trees should be fine if you grew them in ground.

Ciao
