Now that I have roots. . .

Potting mix for the new little babies - What do you think of this?

60% Promix, 40% Perlite and throw in some mushroom compost?

Any other suggestions?

I really hate to bug everyone with all these questions, but I have never, never grown a fig tree before.

I read a lot of the postings on GW and got totally confused.  I don't want to be a soil scientist, I just want to know what to do.

Thanks group

I'm certainly not a soil scientist, or even one of the most prolific growers (that would be Jon), but your mix would likely be ok, though I try to add about 20 - 25% shredded bark to my mix. (the finest bagged mulch I can find usually)  This (along with the packing peanuts in the base) keeps the mix light and airy promoting good drainage.

i also put lime on the top of the soil and then mulch the pot with 1-2 inches of  mulch.

I am using 60% perlite and 40% coarse compost when potting to 1 gallon. At this stage, drainage is still the most critical issue. When they outgrow a 1 gallon pot, they are established enough, that drainage is much less of an issue.
